These reinforced rear radius arm, completely Made in Italy, are recommended to restore the correct geometry of the rear suspension when using raised structures over 5cm.They are replaced without any modification to the original struts of all the Defenders of any year and model. It is possible to retract the position of the rear axle to increase stability, but being adjustable they can also be installed on original vehicles while keeping the wheel unchanged.The bushing on the frame has been replaced by a completely revisable jonny joint spherical joint, made internally by HM4X4 and designed specifically for the suspension of the Defender. The fine-pitch thread of the joint allows the millimeter adjustment of the length of the single strut (0.75mm per turn).The jonny joint is free to rotate along its axis allowing maximum excursion of the strut but is limited in lateral rotation to not affect the stability on the road.
The radius arm are made of 6mm thick alloy steel tube, are galvanized and polyester powder coated; the bushings are made from solid and welded with TIG technology; the connections on the bridge correspond perfectly to the original connections, while the frame is connected by means of a pair of brackets, also made of steel and welded with TIG technology that allow the use of a 20mm oversized pin.For the construction of the jonny joint C45 steel is used and the sliding is guaranteed by two unprinted shells made from solid with a high quality semi-crystalline polymer, with high mechanical strength and very low coefficient of friction, the use of these materials it makes it practically free of wear even with extreme uses and allowing precise movements and an excellent absorption of vibrations.
