Kit consisting of nº2 rear leaf springs 4 sheets produced in Italy by a leading company in the industry, guaranteed 2 years on structural defects and 10 years on corrosion.
In these particular leaf springs, the bushing on the frame has been replaced by a completely revisable johnny joint spherical joint, made internally by HM4X4 and designed specifically for the Suzuki Samurai and SJ suspension.
The johnny joint compared to a classic silentblock allows a greater twist of the leaf springs increasing the mobility especially with the use of dynamic shackles that usually can not open completely due to the low twist of crossbows.
Thanks to the jonny joint the crossbow is no longer stressed by the torsional forces but works only in extension and compression, the life of the leaf springs is lengthened and the suspension results much smoother and faster in the movements.
The johnny joint is a joint with movements much more linear than a classic silentblock because it always rotates around a fixed point with an obvious improvement also on road stability.
Our johnny joint system and the S2 crossbows have been developed and tested during the Italian XTC Championship with excellent results.
Are built entirely in Italy on specifications of HM4X4, with this product we can say that have created a product of excellence unparalleled anywhere in the world, are the only ones in the world to be fully galvanized and painted to powder, also the antifriction pad is of our production, it is produced with high quality Italian polyurethane and with a profile that does not allow to detach even when the crossbow is in maximum opening.
We opted not to use the double eye (military wrap) not to penalize the excursion due to interference with the shackles, but we have tested, with exciting results, the single eyelet of reinforced section that despite the high resistance to fatigue and yielding has made the spring pack extremely fluid in the movements, so much to approach in an impressive way to the work curve of a coil spring, the high quality of these crossbows allows to counteract the typical problems of lowering the right side that all the Suzuki Samurai and Sj manifest.
These Samurai leaf springs are 2 to 4 cm (according to the bead) longer than the original, this leads to the advancement of the front axle, improving the angle of attack and decreasing the front pitch.
For the construction of the johnny joint C45 steel is used and the sliding is guaranteed by two unprinted shells made from solid with a high quality semi-crystalline polymer, with high mechanical strength and very low coefficient of friction, the use of these materials makes it practically free of wear even with extreme uses and allows precise movements and excellent absorption of vibrations.
These leaf springs, built with the best steel in compliance with EN 10089, UNI 3545-80 and DIN 17221 with profiles according to EN 1009, after being rolled, forged and formed, they undergo the following treatments:
- heat treatment at 700° C by the manufacturer for the remediation obtaining the mechanical characteristics of the project;
- magnetic particle examination and sample tests;
- shot peening, which consists in hammering surface run cold by means of a jet of steel shot which causes a plastic deformation surface that propagates up to a few tenths of a millimeter in the material, closes the microcracks and improves the distribution of surface tension, increasing the fatigue strength and flexibility 'of each sheet of the crossbow;
- cold electrolytic galvanizing to prevent corrosion;
- dehydrogenation in the oven at 180°C, treatment that is used to reduce the accumulated hydrogen embrittlement during the electrolytic galvanizing process, mandatory for hardened materials in accordance with ISO 2081;
- painted with black epoxy powder matte pearlescent.
Hardness: very soft
Assembly: easy
Other necessary modifications: for optimal operation we recommend mounting with antireverse boomerang shackles at a minimum distance of 95mm.
