Pair of rear leaf springs +2", with 4 sheets, produced in Italy by a leading company in the sector, guaranteed for 2 years on structural defects.

The bush on the frame has been replaced by a completely revisable johnny joint made internally by HM4X4 and designed specifically for the suspension of the Suzuki Samurai and SJ which is installed on the eye of the crossbow.

The johnny joint with respect to a classic silentblock allows a greater torsion of the crossbow, it increases its mobility especially with the use of dynamic biscuits that usually are not able to open completely due to the low torsion of the crossbows.

Thanks to the johnny joint the crossbow is no longer stressed by torsional forces but works only in extension and compression, improves the life of the crossbows and makes the suspension much smoother and faster in movements.

The johnny joint is a joint with much more linear movements compared to a classic silentblock because it always rotates around a fixed point, this implies an obvious improvement in the stability of the crossbow on the road.

Our johnny joint system and the S2 crossbows have been developed and tested over the years in the Italian XTC championship with excellent results.

The cleaf springs are of the semi-elliptical multi-sheet type, progressive, they are totally built in Italy on HM4X4 specifications. With this product we can claim to have created a product of excellence, are the only ones in the world to be completely galvanized and powder coated, the anti-friction pad is our own production, it is produced with high quality Italian polyurethane and with a profile that does not allow to break away even when the crossbow is in its maximum opening.

We decided not to use the double eye (military wrap) in order not to penalize the excursion due to interference with the biscuits, but we tested, with exciting results, the single eyelet of reinforced section that despite the high resistance to fatigue and to the yielding has made the leaf pack extremely fluid in its movements, so much so that it comes very close to the working curve of a helical spring.

These crossbows are 2 to 4 cm (depending on the curvature) longer than the original, this leads to the advancement of the front bridge, improving the angle of attack and decreasing the front pitch.

These leaf springs, built with the best steel in compliance with EN 10089, UNI 3545-80 and DIN 17221 with profiles according to EN 1009, after being rolled, forged and formed, they undergo the following treatments:

  • heat treatment at 700° C by the manufacturer for the remediation obtaining the mechanical characteristics of the project;
  • magnetic particle examination and sample tests;
  • shot peening, which consists in hammering surface run cold by means of a jet of steel shot which causes a plastic deformation surface that propagates up to a few tenths of a millimeter in the material, closes the microcracks and improves the distribution of surface tension, increasing the fatigue strength and flexibility 'of each sheet of the crossbow;
  • cold electrolytic galvanizing to prevent corrosion;
  • dehydrogenation in the oven at 180°C, treatment that is used to reduce the accumulated hydrogen embrittlement during the electrolytic galvanizing process, mandatory for hardened materials in accordance with ISO 2081;
  • painted with black epoxy powder matte pearlescent.

Hardness: very soft
Assembly: easy
Other necessary modifications: for optimal operation we recommend mounting with antireverse boomerang biscuits at a minimum distance of 95mm.
