These springs are designed and built in Italy with high quality steel and are optimized to give maximum softness while maintaining high stability on the road thanks to the variable pitch system widely tested in the Italian XTC championship.
The progressive springs, unlike traditional ones, have a variable pitch, ie the distance between the turns is not constant but varies along its length, the stiffness of a spring equal to the material and diameter of the wire is given precisely by the number of spire and by their step.
A progressive spring allows to insert more coils with respect to a traditional spring, resulting much softer, the coils with variable pitch during compression harden the spring progressively obtaining an extremely soft, comfortable and able to copy the ground but very stable on the road.
The main advantages in off-road of a progressive spring:
- greater ability to copy the terrain;
- greater excursion at equal length compared to a traditional spring;
- minore effect "staccamolla" at parity 'of rise and hike, then more traction;
- very stable in the lateral passages because crushing it stiffens;
- most absorption of sudden obstacles, as stiffens progressively brakes a possible obstacle (boulders, roots, etc.) without getting to buffer
The main advantages on the road of a progressive spring:
- very stable on fast sections;
- very more comfortable than a traditional spring thanks to the high number of turns;
- it reduces the rolling in the corners to a minimum because crushing progressively stiffens.
It is possible to choose the version for winch sized to support the weight of a medium-sized winch with textile cable and a heavy-duty bumper, in case of winches and light bumpers (less than 40kg in total) choose the version without winch
