King coilover suspensions

HM4X4 is an official King Shocks dealer and service center.

Performance Race series coilovers are all you need to maximize the potential of your suspension. They are 100% Made in the USA to the strictest tolerances with the highest quality materials, and are serviceable and adjustable with simple hand tools.

King Schocks Perfarmace Race series 2.5" diameter coilovers with Remote reservoir are available with 6" to 18" travel, and it should be noted that those with 6" or 8" travel can only fit one spring, not icluded.

This coilover is available with the Remote reservoir only, or you can choose to have other configurations by adding an IBP (internal bypass), or a compression adjuster or swivel end cap, or even purchase it with all three of these options.

In the Remote reservoir version, the gas canister is detached from the shock absorber and connected through Aeroquip Performance Products hoses and fittings, a company that has been the number one choice of racing enthusiasts around the world for more than 80 years. The company designs and tests each hose length and fitting according to strict safety factors and makes them to work together ensuring a precise fit. The Remote separate reservoir version has the feature of keeping the gas separate from the oil inside the shock absorber. This prevents the oil emulsion effect that temporarily inhibits the effectiveness of the shock absorber.

The King IBP will allow you to experience the same damping performance that was once reserved for racing-inspired dual shock configurations. Never before has so much performance gain been available in a compact, and durable product. Perfect for those with limited space. The internal bypass, from King Shocks is the solution for all your damping needs.

The IBP has a special hollow stem with ports that are fed by the valve contained in the patented Ride Valve Chamber. As the shock absorber compresses, fluid passes through conventional valves on the primary piston and secondary valves in the Ride Valve Chamber, allowing high flow rate to smoothly overcome small bumps and irregularities such as rocks or bumps. When the vehicle encounters a large bump, the shaft heads toward the end of the compression stroke, where the metering rod is located. The tapered metering rod enters the end of the hollow shaft gradually closing the ports of the travel valve chamber. As the ports close, fluid flow is reduced until it is forced through the single conventional valve on the primary piston, steadily increasing damping resistance. This results in a smooth ride at trim height and an increase in position-sensitive damping that prevents sinking in the most demanding situations.

The swivel end cap is the shock absorber attachment that has the ability to turn 360 degrees and be locked in the desired position for custom intsallation of your coil over. The length of the swivel end cap increase the size of the coil over by 1 inch over standard ones.

The compression adjuster, has 20 adjustment positions for all 2.0" and 2.5" Piggyback and Remote series, both Performance Race and Pure Race series.

This lightweight, space-saving coilover is suitable for both low and high speed Trial uses, Racing speed competitions, and travel in unexplored Africa.

Features:

  • when using a remote reservoir detached from the shock body, high-quality fittings and Aeroquip high-pressure hoses are used, which resist abrasion and allow a tighter bending radius without kinking as braided steel or fabric hoses do;
  • the reservoirs made of anodized 6063 aluminum alloy are both lightweight and strong, dissipate heat quickly, and do not rust from contamination of the gas charge;
  • shock absorber bodies are reamed to within +/- 0.001 precision, then sanded after galvanizing to remove any machining residue for a tight piston seal and optimal valve function;
  • truncated thread design for maximum strength and smooth spring adjustment;
  • the piston is made of 6061 aluminum alloy;
  • valve blades, made of heat-treated stainless steel alloy, have a unique grain structure that does not break and remains stable at high temperatures to maintain consistent calibration
  • valve wear bands are made from a unique Rulon composite that lasts longer than any other material available;
  • large 3/4" or 7/8" diameter stems have a minimum tensile strength of 100,000 pounds per square inch. They are chrome-plated and micropolished with a 6 RA finish for longer seal life;
  • all aluminum, aircraft-grade components are machined from billet;
  • the uniballs are steel with Teflon sliding for smooth articulation and long life without metal-to-metal contact.
Stroke specifications:
  • stroke 6" - length in compression 14" - length in extension 20"
  • stroke 8" - length in compression 16" - length in extension 24"
  • stroke 10" - length in compression 18.375" - length in extension 28.375"
  • stroke 12" - length in compression 20.65" - length in extension 32.65"
  • stroke 14" - length in compression 23.25" - length in extension 37.25"
  • stroke 16" - length in compression 26" - length in rebound 42"
  • stroke 18" - length in compression 28" - length in extension 46".

OPTIONS:

Each individual coilover can be calibrated to your specifications and/or requirements. Calibration is done on a state-of-the-art dynamometer capable of displaying braking at 10 different speeds as well as the speed of valve and Bypass opening. Calibration when ordering and the first recalibration within one year of purchase is free of charge.

The King coilover can be accessorized according to your needs either when ordering or later with the following accessories:

90° or 45° reservoir fitting: you can separately choose the angle of the fittings that connect the tube to the reservoir and the shock absorber body, in the standard version the fittings are straight;

Wide spacers: it is possible to choose the pin diameter and the width of attachment to the frame and axle;

External bump stop: it is possible to choose whether to insert a bumpstop made of rubber or Foam, higher and softer;

Rod end length: it is possible to install supports that connect the coilover stem to the bridge, 3 sizes over the standard;

Coil slider: it is possible to choose the sliding sleeve interposed between the two springs made of high temperature resistant Nylon instead of the standard plastic one;

Triple rate spring: it is possible to have the coilover arranged for the installation of the third "helper" spring in addition to the two standard springs;

Bottom spring plate: it is possible to choose the spring holding plate placed on the stem in standard flat or raised version;

Reservoir: it is possible to have the short finned reservoir to better dissipate heat;

Shaft guard: it is possible to add a plastic protection that protects the shaft from stones or branches.

In addition to these options, it is possible to have the coil over with custom colors and sizes and with a custom tube length, also each component can be customized according to your needs, customizations can be made at the order stage but also after the purchase and on previously purchased shock absorbers, each customization is made in Italy and retains the official warranty on the shock absorber.
